Tell me why?
Tell me why!
What are they fighting for?
Tell me why?
Tell me why!
I’m sure someone told me once before
I saw some politician
on some t.v screen
he looked the camera in the eye
I wished it was some awful dream
when the words came from his mouth
when he told the world his lies
he seemed so sincere
like some truth was near
but the truth was boys would die!
Tell the truth!
tell it all!
let the world just stop and listen
Tell the truth!
let lies fall!
upon the ears of our derision!
the weapons of destruction
are not the missiles from the gun
the war on terror had been lost
before the terror had begun
the terror came not from some alien men
but much closer yet to home
when the power of greed did make its seed
on a presidential throne!
Tell me how?
Tell me now!
what are your excuses?
Tell me how
Tell me now!
how you suffer such abuses?
To have your say upon the deed
I assume you chose to vote?
Democracy in action?
gives the power to those of note
Noted for their dishonesty
Noted for their greed
Noted for taking you for granted
when they have found their seat!
Tell me Now!
Tell me how?
You hold your tongue at such abuses?
of your word
of your deeds
misused for others uses!
When a soldier boy lies dying
on some foreign field
It was you who kept your tongue still
despite the revulsion that you feel
at the failure of your government
that they resort to this
bang the drum and fly the flag
19 years to meet deaths kiss!
When they all come back in body bags
From beneath the Afghan sun
fighting for corruption
when all is said and done
Heroes one and Heroes all
They never asked for this
Betrayed by those who sent them there
Betrayed by a Liars Judas Kiss!
The war is closer than you think
Not fought on some foreign soil
In the war of truth and dishonesty
we are all embroiled
Close your eyes that don’t want to see
your ears hear all they choose to hear
Watch your dumbed down shows of reality
For Armageddon now is here!

By the side of the road
Across from the stream
A little bird lay wounded
with broken wing ,so it seemed
She lay there not moving
trying hard to lie low
defenceless and helpless
as the traffic did flow
So many went past her
No-one saw her at all
with her broken wing hanging
beneath an oak that stood tall
The tree it watched over
the poor helpless dove
but it could not intrude
could show her no love
I came upon her
On that path where she lay
as i tried to help her
she tried to flutter away
with broken wing dragging
and fear in her eyes
she could not see my intention
as she let go a cry
she feared to be captured
she feared to be harmed
every part of her being
was filled with alarm
I tried to speak gently
I tried not to rush
with care and attention
her wing not to brush
In my hands I did take her
and tried not to hold tight
as she struggled and fluttered
filled with fearful fright
I wanted to nurse her
with my love and my care
but she could not trust me
She would not dare
She flew from my grasp
she fell to the road
a car came upon her
and now she’s no more
Sometimes when were injured
we forget how to trust
our fears drive us onwards
of hope, not a crust
We would rather lie injured
like this wounded bird
with our injured wings dragging
we don’t want to be heard
Our fear takes us over
no chance will we take
of love and compassion
we would rather forsake
When Life runs us over
and inside we do cry
from the wounds of our past
with fear we do fly
Instead let us take courage
face our fear in the face
let us not remain broken
but heal with good grace
Let us take time
Let us leave our dark place
take our life in our hands
and set off with one pace

Say Hello to the child inside
take her by the hand and walk beside
Its been too long now, since she was locked away
kept in the dark by the light of day
I heard her cry, just the other day
she sounded so alone,to be left that way
She had been locked up,in velvet bonds
for her own protection, when all went wrong
But you’ve kept her bound, with no release
No sign of hope,no word of peace
No Trust , No Love,Just fear and doubt
In her prison cell, while you work it out
Can you remember long ago
When she would play, in the winter snow
How she cried, when she skinned her knees
And how she laughed at your fathers tease
A wild teenager in her youth
Having fun,in a feisty mood
Where did she go? Where did it all go wrong?
when she lost her voice and you lost your song
So take her by the hand, and hold her tight
Kiss her to sleep,On the cold wet night
Then take her out again to play
Sing and dance on the next new day
Close the door on the stormy past
Let it go,for it didn’t last
Don’t let the sorrows of yesterday
Spoil your childs new future, and her Today
she knows you hurt, she felt your pain
But she’s talking to you, like summer rain
So light, so warm, her refreshing smile
she wants to dance, won’t you stop a while
Hold her now,feel her respond
stroke her hair, put a new dress on
play skipping ropes,play peever too
Feel the hope which she brings you

The earth fell in love with the moon
but the moon couldn’t leave the sun
So the earth spent the days gazing skywards
And the moon felt overcome
They all orbited each other
never too close and never too far
the pull of gravity held the earth
like a magnet to its star
Venus felt dumbfounded
As she’d been crushed by mighty Mars
She wept her days and nights
Kept pining from afar
The earth was feeling lonely
and he yearned for a true love
He heard Venus crying
In the Universe above
He wanted so much to comfort her
He vowed to try the best he can
And she in turn so wanted
a decent kind of man
So they orbited from a distance
And they felt the pull of love
But the Moon who’d grown distant
shed tears from the sky above
The Galaxy around them all
was filled with silent stars
each twinkling it message
Lost suns are who they are
Black holes came in to being
and they spread their dark despair
While jealousy was formed at night
On Loves departed cares
Nothing was simplicity
In the void of hurt and pain
Loves shadow was seen leaving
But its substance still remained
Romeo and Juliet
Star crossed lovers we are told
were born from such encounters
as their horoscopes foretold
Yet their story was an old one
First written in the skies
tragedy and compulsion
with jealousy and its crime
The world revolves,so does the moon
the sun and every star
Venus,Neptune and Orion
All captured where they are
Nothing is simplicity
No tail without its end
with heartaches and complicity
From our Universal friends
We on earth must learn and listen
We are but strangers out of time
And when our gaze searches heavenwards
We are all of Universal mind
As we chase around in circles
as we travel round our bends
let us all give grace and all good fortune
lest our broken world descends

Dear Friend,
I wish I could make it better
If I could, you know I would
Calm your heart of stormy weather
I can see your sky of Lightning bolts
I can feel your heart of thunder
And the fear and tears of clouds and rain
that tear your soul asunder
I know that your emotions
are like waves all running high
and your mind is a commotion
like the whirlwind in the sky
tearing up your feelings
as a hurricane prevails
your nerves are rows of houses
all shattered by the gale
If I could show some kindness
to give you shelter from that storm
you know that If could give it
I would gladly give it all
But I have felt what you now feel
And I know that no matter how I tried
I would only make your spirits currents worse
give you more clouds that would cry
Only you can sort it out
Only you can find your way
But if I could shine some kind of light
I would do so till new day
You need to rest and calm a while
till you may see your road
take to your cave upon your hill
and lay down your heavy load
There is truth and light still to be found
so wait till your storm has passed
and you may see the rainbow
hearts colours that will last
Embrace your hopes and not your fears
embrace your faith, not doubt
have courage through your silent tears
till your dawn will dry them out
Rest your weary head,in your lonely bed
for you never are alone
a guiding light is guiding you
and your love will find its home.

She was a bored hard working housewife
But her life felt such a mess
with a boring staid old husband
who made her totally depressed
when they went to bed at night
there was no spark to her fire
No excitement,and no loving
a complete lack of all desire
each day she would go to work
her fingers to the bone
till her husband would then return
And he would moan and he would drone zzzzzzz
She wondered what had happened?
What brought her life to this?
falling asleep from her exhaustion
and comatosed with a kiss
Every day was just the same
The same old boring chores
Till she went to bed again
And a husband that only snored!
Where was the excitement
that she’d once felt as a girl
and the husband that she’d married
who once made her heart a birl
Instead a life of disillusion
and making love in the past
Some distant far reminder
In her lost and passionless fast
So she went one day to the doctor
feeling alone and quite depressed
Please doctor,will you help me?
my life’s in such a mess!!
and so he did prescribe to her
and anti depressant quite`sublime
but she didn’t read the instructions
for she did not have the time
In the side effects it listed
Here is what it said
Of the things she might expect could happen
which never entered into her head
Drowsiness and dizziness
were things she could expect
diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting
were amongst the things it said
But one side effect she did not read
and one she would soon find out!
Was what would happen to her
when yawning came about!!
So off home she went, and she took her pills
and nothing changed quite right away
But then things began to happen
which all happened on one day.
She was standing listening to a banker
and she got bored as she could be
As he explained the ins and outs
of her balance sheets accountancy
She let out with a mighty yawn!!
And it nearly blew her mind!!
Something went very strange
and she felt it deep inside!
and then when she got home again
and her husband home from work did come
On and On and On he went
Such boredom left her undone!!
She was writhing on the floor
As each yawn overtook the next!!
Convulsions rippled through her
Orgasms at their best!
Moaning there in Ecstasy
She found a husband she could adore!
For even though he was not much good at sex
He was the Worlds most successful Bore!!

Someone had the chance but didn’t take it
They threw it all away
Someone had the chance but didn’t make it
for they thought it wouldn’t pay
We never know the choices
which we will have to make
Some of them seem insignificant
too minuscule to take
Some seem so important
that they seem to shout at you
make this choice or be forever damned
in all the things you do
Mostly though, our choices
fall somewhere in between
These are the ones which shape us
who we’ll be and what we’ve been
Every day is full of them
and its impossible to say
which direction a choice takes
In the grander scheme of play
But if the Butterfly in China
Can effect a Hurricane in Brazil
With the simple flapping of its wings
or by simply lying still
Then such is the significance
of every choice we make
there is nothing thats insignificant
in the decisions that we take
We may never see the consequences
of a harsh or thoughtless word
for that word may root in someone else
far across the world
Were you the creator of Columbine?
Did a word set off Dunblane?
Did a thoughtless remark spark Hungerford?
Could a word save the Spanish train?
These are all deep questions
and the answers never found
But in what we choose and what we say
makes their impact come around
None of this may seem important
Whats it all to do with you?
For we can’t guard every single word
or even all the things we do
We may say were not responsible
If some child dies in Kent
The bounds of the responsibility
lie far beyond our words intent
But if we think about it
act not in anger nor in haste
then we can make a better world
with words of understanding and of grace
If we think back on our lives
and the choices that we made
and see how they affected us
in every hue and shade
Then think of how we made others feel
those of us we knew
From our words or our decisions
Love or hatred grew
So seek the words of understanding
let your emotions avoid the rage
speak your truth with firm deportment
as you turn each daily page
Conflict seeks out Conflict
Peace and Love seek out their same
The choice is clear to all of us
The World stems from how we behave.

There will be ebbs and flows of the tide
But Still Waters running here
Not the Tempest of yesterday
Rather a gurgling stream that’s running clear
We’ve come through stormy oceans
We’ve been tossed around by waves
We’ve sailed the seas of heartbreak
With Lost souls not being saved
We’ve been on crests of waves so high
that they seemed to climb forever
Only to crash down in the surf
In wild inclement weather
We’ve been stranded on an Island
With no ships to hear our cries
No foods of Love & Hope & Peace
No nourishment could we find
The valley of tears where dwelt our fears
was the saddest place of all
The Cape of Good Hope became No Hope
As we continued separately to fall
Mistrust the Truth,the Lies conclude
Place No faith where none is found
When Love’s an obituary,lying dead
Beneath Betrayals stony ground
The years of Solitude and loneliness
lost in a cage which held no bars
We lost all sense of who we were
And how wonderful we are!
A living death,or a death of life
Forever digging some mighty hole
Without friendship,Love,Compassion
It was our lives that they stole
But now we come to Hope again
Each throwing lifebelts from ourselves
To swim in the river of peace again
and find our happy selves
So take my hand in friendship
and let us walk along this road
being truthful with each other
we can find our safe abode

It’s like building a puzzle
without all the bits
You have not all the pieces
So it doesn’t quite fit
Its like setting a riddle
which doesn’t have rhyme
the questions still there
but it doesn’t sound fine
You want to tick all the boxes
You want a hundred percent
eighty or ninety wont do
So you remain on the scent
The jigsaw looks lovely
and it’s picture is great
but the holes in the jigsaw
stand out like mistakes
So we seek perfection
we want the whole shooting match
but life’s not quite like that
there is always some catch
So where do we settle?
How much is enough?
The Holy Grails out there
But it’s some wooden cup
We can chase the perfect illusion
or find some other way
Come up with alternative answers
and see what they say?
If we step back from the picture
Far better we’ll be
All the things we were missing
we will then see
The flaws and the scratches
turn into brush strokes
intended to be there
floating mist is not smoke
So we get back off our ladder
We set it too high
From the ground looking up
we can still see the sky
Relax for a moment
lest panic sets in
all will sort itself out
an other puzzle begins
